The Tropical Typhoon is an extreme-level water slide at West Edmonton Mall’s World Waterpark.
The slide is a unique experience, unlike others at the park. Sliders travel down a short, steep, enclosed tube, before emerging into a circular, funnel shaped basin. They then circle the basin, while slowly shortening each circular path as they approach the center drop.
Dubbed the ‘toilet bowl’ because of the similarities in water traveling down a flushing toilet, sliders end up in a deep splashpool after falling from the basin.
The slide is popular due to its novelty, and fun experience. It replaced the former Cannonball Run, which used the same splashdown pool.
