The Twister is a pair of advanced water slides at the World Waterpark.
One of the original slides at the park, it holds the rare honor of remaining untouched in both color and design from opening day in 1986.
The Twister shares the title of tallest slide in the World Waterpark with the Cyclone, which opened years later. Despite their height, the Twister slides feature gentler slopes and turns than the Howler, and results in a more leisurely experience. However, those who wish it are able to gain speed by lying down while traversing the slide.
Today, the chutes of slide are discolored, and are dark brown in color. Despite some people’s belief that these slides are “dirty”, the color is due to hard water staining over years of use – the slides are no cleaner or dirtier than any other slide in the park.
